DaimlerChrysler Corporation Recalls 2000-2001
Detroit, MI (SafetyAlerts) - The National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has published a recall affecting
2000-2001 Chrysler and Dodge cars manufactured between
July 1999 - June 2001.
Number Involved: 98,000
Certain passenger vehicles (non-sunroof only) fail to comply with the
requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 201, "Occupant
Protection in Interior Impact." In the event of a crash, there is a
potential for injury if the occupant's head were to contact the B-pillar.
Owners will be sent a storage bin accessory unit that can
be attached to the B-pillar along with installation instructions. However,
owners also can have a dealer perform the installation. DaimlerChrysler has
not yet provided NHTSA with an owner notification schedule for this
campaign. Owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time
should contact DaimlerChrysler at 1-800-853-1403.

If your dealer doesn't know about the recall when you
