1998-2000 Dodge Ram Pickups Recalled
Auburn Hills, MI (SafetyAlerts) - DaimlerChrysler is
voluntarily recalling certain 1998-2000 Dodge Ram trucks because of problems with the
DaimlerChrysler will reinforce or replace
defective hitches in about 380,000 trucks. The trailer hitches may have been made
with sub-standard steel.
The recall affects Dodge Ram trucks built between
January 1998 and September 1999. There have been no reports of hitches breaking as a
result of this problem.
Owner notification has already begun. Owners
of affected trucks should call a local dealer to schedule the short inspection and, if
required, repair work.
