1999-2000 Honda Odyssey Recall
Detroit, MI (SafetyAlerts) - The National Highway
Transportation Administration (NHTSA) has announced the recall of certain Honda
Odyssey model years 1999-2000 because the dimmer control for the instrument panel lights
can fail on certain mini vans. At night, the driver would not be able to see the
instrument panel gauges and displays, and may not be aware of the speed or problems with
the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
78,910 vehicles, manufactured between
August 1998 - March 2000 are affected by this recall.
Dealers will replace the multiplex unit. The
manufacturer has reported that owner notification will begin during September 2000. Owners
